Magic the gathering online dating

You should use flirting as a tool with any woman who interests you. Being funny is a crucial flirting tool.

Magic the gathering dating

Make brief eye contact with her from across the room, perhaps with a knowing smile to go with it. Dressing nicely is a good start. With so much competition, you need to stand out. You want to come across as smart, talented, classy, and clever. When I see a woman surrounded by admirers at a Magic tournament, I avoid joining them.

I wait for her to come to me. Doing this will give you something to bond over and help her see your talent more. Show interest in things that interest her. Listen to her talk about herself, and listen sympathetically to her bad-beats stories. This is closely tied in with being different. If you understand what the other men in your Magic circle have to offer, you can better figure out what you should do to be impressive.

Another fact of Magic dating life is that most desirable female Magic players have boyfriends. There are two reasons. First, many desirable women who play Magic learned Magic and became interested in it through a boyfriend. Often, the only way to find a desirable Magic-playing woman to date is to flirt with the ones who are taken. Then, you wait for one of them to become available, or perhaps even get one to choose you over her current boyfriend.

This is another principle that applies whether or not she plays Magic. Why does she play Magic? Is it because she wants to win a Pro Tour? Is she into Magic alters and art? Does she just like hanging out with gamers? Gathering information is an important part of winning a woman over. The landmines to avoid here are insulting her intelligence and coming across as condescending.

Perhaps offer to help her test and prepare for a PTQ. Be careful to avoid being pushy. If a woman rebuffs an advance, back off immediately. I'd compare it to a tabloid, but that gives Gawker far more credit as a news organization than I'd like to.

Last edited by Melete: Dumb bitch doesn't know how the world works. I write about cube and run cube drafts on magic online. I want to date Jon Finkel. I've been lucky enough to play and meet Mr. Finkel and he was just a cool guy to talk to. Smart, knowledgeable, well-spoken, and a pretty funny dude as well. There was a time when he was your typical nerdy fella, but when he lost weight, his whole demeanor changed and you could tell his confidence on the social level grew older players will know what I'm talkin' about.

Anyways, girl missed out. I hear he does well for himself these days, while she's just posting gossip about someone. She actually became interested enough to play with me and my friends. To completely dismiss a guy because of his hobby when he is a sensible, decent human being is crap and really makes me lose respect for humanity.

It doesn't even sound like he was forcing that on her but she asked and then he told her and she had her mind made up about him over that one silly thing. I could go on but societal expectations and the way things are portrayed between people is completely and utterly asinine sometimes. Why cant people just be good to each other? I'd be ok with this if her argument were that she didn't want to deal with him being more dedicated to the game than her.

That would be equivalent to not being able to date someone for being a workaholic, and understandable. Instead, she decided to go the "Nerds are worse than wifebeaters and serial killers! Finkel, and would love to meet him and shake his hand some day. Not just some "Nice to meet you, let go of my hand now" shake, but a firm "Gods, I respect you so much" shake, and have him sign my favorite card, if he had the time. And, if I was ever in a match with him, I would have so much fun.

It wouldn't even matter that he would whoop me, I'd be honored to have him purposely hanging out with me, becausehe just enjoyed my company.

I smiled and nodded and listened. Eventually I even felt a little bit bad that I didn't know shit about the game.

Here was a guy who had dedicated a good chunk of his life to mastering Magic, on a date with a girl who can barely play Solitaire. This is what happens, I thought, when you leave things out of your online profile. Development The article was submitted to Reddit the same day in a thread titled "What did I learn?
